The SCVGRS was founded in 2000 by a small group of garden railroaders and wannabes. While the core membership consists of Santa Clarita Valley residents, the roster has grown over the years to include members from the San Fernando Valley to Frazier Park.

"Show and Tell" meetings at IHOP
The club meets on the last Monday evening of every month except December. In the cold and wet winter months we meet at a local IHOP, but as soon as the weather allows, we like to meet at the homes of our various members, where we can solve problems, share expertise, and of course 'play with the trains.'

In addition to (or sometimes in lieu of) our regular meetings, the club enjoys going on 'field trips' to various train-related venues. These are generally informally organized, and have included trips to Railtown 1897 in Jamestown, The Orange Empire Museum in Perris, The Tehachapi Loop,The Fillmore & Western Railroad, and the Big Train Show and the National Garden Railway conventions.

And whenever we can, we try to at least 'get a meal' out of the adventure!

The SCVGRC welcomes anyone with an interest in railroading in general and "G" scale garden railroading in particular! Whether you're an 'old hand' or just getting started, you'll find support here. A monthly newsletter, as well as occasional bulletins, keep club members in touch when they can't attend meetings, and club members share a wealth of technical & historical books, magazines, videos, and specialized tools.
So if you'd like to get involved with a friendly and informal garden railroad club full of modeling & engineering talent, come join us! Call club President Alan Wright at 661/287-0026, or email Alan Wright.
Our annual dues = $15.00 -- Cheap!
